Grindplate: BBK

The Soap Boltar is a tough model from Soap, it can grind every surface possible, and can hold up to the worst of weather. It features Meat is Murder Pleather and Ballistic mesh. Boltars have been one of Soap's most popular models and makes a great starter shoe, although it has features for all people of all levels. The Boltars have 3 exfoliant bars on the outsides and insides of each shoe, these are used to keep you from wrecking the sides of your shoes while doing tricks such as UFOs, Royales or while braking on a rail. Overall, the Soap Boltar takes it one step higher than its sister shoe, the Sylon. Boltars used to come stock with the Original grind plates but now come standard with replacable BBK grind plates. The Soap Boltar is now discontinued.

I don't know much about many of the shoes as far as actual use goes, but it appears these two models even each other out well.

I suppose it really depends on which you like most... maybe your friend should get one model and you the other.

i would say the boltars are definitely more functional and rugged. the goas are more of a "looker" type of shoe. if you plan on grinding a lot and want a rugged shoe, definitely get the boltars.

Be careful when buying the blue boltars. Some sites will display a picture of the blue and white shoes but give you the black and blue shoes. This has happened to me.

The black and blue shoes(Colbalts...I think) I mentioned above are not displayed on this site. Basically the whole botom half of the shoe are completely black. The sole is completely black and the material on lower half the shoe is completely black leather. The top is almost entirely blue except for the laces, logos, and the inside of the shoe which are white. Personally I don't like this color.

This shoe is very bulky. The look and feel of this shoe is not good. The mesh on the toe of the shoe really doesn't look good. Especially since the the mesh falls in when you wear them. Also the mix of leather and suede looks really wierd. The leather is sewn on so the edges of the leather stick out. The shoe looks much worse in person.

And by the way don't listen to mr negative nancy above (mgm) These shoes really are nice shoes and they look great. Although i am not a fan of the bbk gring plate they lock on really well and are a comfortable shoe. I don't like them as much as the septums but they were definately worth the money :)

Heels tend to fall apart after a while... but otherwise, it is a very durable shoe, and probably the most comfortable of its era.

Managed to get hold of some 'Soap Boltar Cobalts' the other day, they sounded like they were going to last longer than most of the others. They are decent as a starter, not the most comfortable but not the worst either.

I had my Boltars for about a week and it took about 3 days to break them in. Before then, they hurt my feet like a bitch. The exfoliant bars are useless... I did cess slides ON the bars and the sides of the shoe still got scuffed and tattered up. Luckily, those were pinhole tatters, but the scuffs are green and yellow :C I'M SAD

I don't relaly like the look of Boltars anymore.. neither do I like them much in performance.

THe soles started to come off after a week, and they looked like tanks on my feet even though they were the right size lol.

The exfoliant bars also didn't work as well as the ones on the sylons.

I like sylons.

Boltars are the best of the SOAPs IMHO. I don't know what you mean by the sole started to wear after a week, i've killed all my shoes in less than 3 months, these lasted 5 for me. They are the most comfertable shoe i've ever warn, the most stylish, these shoes turn heads.

Two of the best shoes lol. However, I personally would go with the black scabs. Those things are sick.

But the cobalt boltars are a really nice pair of shoes. I couldn't love those shoes more. Trevor, I finally see why you like the boltars so much :D

I am soooooooooooooooooo pissed off with www.rawk.com as I bought some white Boltars and I needed to phone them up to ask if hey were coming today or tomorrow (as it says next day delivery) and the lady on the FAQ Line said: "Oh sorry, we need to get some more stock from our supplier, so your Boltars will probably be with you on Monday or Tuesday. So much for next working day delivery. >:(

I have a pair of them in the Rust scheme and recently ordered a pair in the Cobalt scheme, Boltars are lovely! If I could find a pair in Grey Id snap them up too. My Rust ones are beat up to hell but I still parade them about more than my Ordnance Flints.

btw i found this site that sells boltar, chaos , clean, express, goa, mb tank, ordnance, scab, scam, squeaky clean, and sylons. they also do some plates and the tool for removing them.
