The Mr. Wilsons were the first grind shoes to be made by Salomon, and also the first to feature a sole plate, in addition to the lateral (50/50) plate in the arch of the sole. The plates on these shoes were softer than their successor, the X Factor, which gave the wearer more feel of the obstacle beneath them, although this made the plates slower. They featured a unique lace-up system which made putting on/removing the shoes much quicker.
