Grindplate: N/A

The Mr. Wilsons were the first grind shoes to be made by Salomon, and also the first to feature a sole plate, in addition to the lateral (50/50) plate in the arch of the sole. The plates on these shoes were softer than their successor, the X Factor, which gave the wearer more feel of the obstacle beneath them, although this made the plates slower. They featured a unique lace-up system which made putting on/removing the shoes much quicker.

I emailed salomon about these cause.. they're pretty sweet in my opinion. But I got a reply back saying that all the production of these was overseas so they don't know if the plates,dies,cast are still available or parts and haven't been for along time. Shame. But hey I asked and thats all it takes to make people wonder.

Yeah the colors and lace setup makes them look like hiking boots. Same goes for the yellow Soap Spike.

If you mean broadsides, that's wrong too. Broadsides went up to size 14 in blue and size 13 in green

Still waiting for mine. In the meantime though, there is a box-fresh pair of US 7.5, Euro 40.5 available on German eBay.

Plus, they are in the rarer and cooler black / white colour scheme.

Interestingly, you can see from the picture that these Salomon shoes also came with some kind of possible disclaimer sticker attached to them.

Sorry about that. This punk snuck onto my computer and left hateful messages to everyone I knew. So, I'm actually glad that you got Mr. Wilsons for $10. Not a bad price at all! I just wish my Sylons were that much. had to pay $167 for them. Then on Christmas, they break and I spend half the year fixing them.

Just goes to show you. NEVER get anything with a Sylon lower if you plan on using it.
