love it

May 28, 2004 Collin

^^whooops that was me he uses my computer and forgot to logout.

May 28, 2004 aaron

nice picture (as in the photographer did a great job, thats you derek)... but the whole frontsides, ufos, royales and CGs on soaps is getting kinda played out. at first, when i saw the thumbnail, i thought this was a rolling pic... topsoul i thought, topsoul i thought.

May 28, 2004 broox

he had to duck down pretty low to get under that tree, haha.

May 28, 2004 Smokey

grind, grab the tree, swing around it, grind again. Do iiiit. I thought it looked like a topsoul from the thumbnail too.

May 28, 2004 aaron

come from the side with the staits and do a truespin savannah, now that'd rock

May 28, 2004 Rocker

or back unity on the ledge and transfer over into topsoul on the rail. that would be pretty cool. out

May 28, 2004 aaron

no it wouldn't. maybe if he was chris farmer and he was rolling and not soaping he might be able to pull that off, but i still think it sounds weak, particularily the back unity on the ledge bit. for soaps the coolest thing you could probably do on that rail is to start on the side with the stairs and truespin savannah it like butter

May 28, 2004 Collin

Gangsta farmer, or tight pants farmer?

May 28, 2004 Smokey

That reminds me... Aaron where are those insane soap videos you promised us?

May 28, 2004 Mart

I knew this was Taraboletti from looking at the thumbnail... no idea how or why Also, I thought truespins were only on soul-plate grinds; surely a true savannah would just be a 360 savannah?

May 29, 2004 aaron

no.... truespin and alley-oop have been around longer than soul plates... back in the day they were called blindsides instead of truespin though. a truespin savannah would be a like an alley-oop unity (a unity with the legs crossed the other way), but you spin away from the rail, and land backside.... like doing a backside unity but with your legs twisted the other way around...

May 29, 2004 aaron

as for my sick soap vids... whats the point, i dont soap anymore... my only pair of soapshoes are past the point of being wearable.. and i roll now all the time. if you want pics/vids of me rolling just keep looking on sites that feature pics like here, and be-mag has accepted a few pics of me and my crew but they're not posted yet... and keep an eye out in videos, cause i might be one of those random people you see in a random section of videos. plus i've got a GL2 on the way so we're shooting our own local scene video soon. to be honest, i have nothing to prove to a bunch of kids with weird aliases on sites like this... if people in the rollerblading industry accept my skating and offer me secret sections in videos (AJ offered my crew a secret section in KFC4, but unfortunately we didn't have enough time, or equipment, to put a good one together at the time... and it was winter) than i shouldn't worry about kids internet-dissing me.

May 29, 2004 rscvideos

soon as i make it in a skate video i'm gonna quit.

May 29, 2004 janebarrat

Firstly Aaron, quit boasting. You could've answered Smokey's question in the space of one line, not three paragraphs of snooze material. Secondly, what's the point of posting your videos? So other people can watch, and maybe learn from them, not because you think you're too damn good for everyone else. Think about the people who Soap and want to see new media and what'd be good for them, not what'd be good for you and your image.

May 29, 2004 Collin

I highly doubt you had a chance to get into KFC4.

May 29, 2004 dunk

I don't doubt what Aaron's saying but I agree, you should deffinately upload these vids for the good of the Soap community. I'm sure lotsa people wanna see 'em.

May 30, 2004 Collin

But still comparing his stuff on here to shit that was on KFC3, its highly unlikely

May 30, 2004 aaron

collin, you obviously don't know who i am then... i produce many ads that make it into "pro" rolling videos and have quite a few ties in the industry. aj is a real cool guy and really did offer me the chance to put a secret section in KFC4 if i wanted to. and yeah, maybe some time ill dust off the soaps and put a video online for you guys.

May 30, 2004 Collin

Producing is one thing, skating in them is another, and from all the skate videos ive seen i have never seen your name in any of them, he might have if you were close with him, but if you are saying like he seen you on the streets and was like hey i want you to be in this video i wouldnt believe it.

May 30, 2004 Collin

Im not dissing or anything your skating surpasses me by far but compared to the skating that comes from KFC it is nothing.

May 30, 2004 aaron

haha, for sure man. i never said i was ripping it up like alex or brandon, those guys kill it. we were just gonna have a little secret section not a full blown profile or anything. i've never claimed to be a god-like skater or anything, in fact the only thing i dissed was how played-out frontsides and royales on soap shoes are. which is true, the sport hasn't changed tricks or styles of tricks since it was first developed. go look through the picture gallery for soaps, all you see is frontside, royales, and maybe the occasional cheese grater or UFO... and they all have the same style. all i was saying is that it seems like nowadays once you've seen one soap shoe pic you've seen them all, people should start mixing it up a little more by throwing in newer tricks (such as true savnnahs), rather than doing the same old grind, with the same old style, on the same old object, with the same-old photographic or videographic techniques (this picture is an exception for this, i actually enjoy how this was taken).

May 30, 2004 Smokey

The picture is pretty cool... Something about the colors makes it look like it's from a dream or something.

May 30, 2004 Collin

Maybe see some switchups on soaps like CG to backside.

May 30, 2004 Mart

It's hard for Soap to evolve parallel to inline when the hardware on the shoes has remained largely unchanged for 7 years Also, inline has the advantage of being able to jump two feet at a time. This is pretty much impossible to do well on soaps if you take a run-up, and is a lot less controllable; with rolling it's all one smooth movement, in soaping it's all spastic and disjointed

May 30, 2004 aaron

i find jumping one foot at a time makes tricks easier, witht he only exception i can think of being backside backslides. all the other ones it allows you an extra split second to get your feet ready, and allows you to plant one foot on the rail so you're "calibrated" to land the other foot. a good example is kindgrinds, they're so easy to land your h-block foot first on soaps, and then adding the sole plate foot is easy. on skates you gotta land balances on top of the rail with both feet in perfect positioning to be able to do a kindgrind on a rail. i also find spinning into grinds easier on shoes, since you jump one foot at a time. when your launching off one foot, the other foot and part of your torso can already be spinning, you can have upto a 270 done by the time the toes of your launching foot leave the ground. for skates i can do 360 grinds, and if you count curbs and ground rails i can do 450s and 540s into grinds. on shoes, i can do 450/540 grinds on most things, and on ground rails i was landing (but not balancing well) 630s and 720s into grinds.. however that was almost a year ago, and i havent tried doing spins into grinds on soaps since then. the 450s and 540 grinds on skates are new tricks to me, only a few months old.. at the time i was almost doing 630s and 720s into grinds i could barely do 270s into grinds on skates. aside from grinding, at the moment i can only do 540 spins on skates, and i'm working on landing 720s and fakie 720s (although i usually end up doing 630s or a 540 with my body over-twisted.. thus falling).... but on shoes i can 7 easily, and often over-rotate to almost 9's. again these spins are new to me, so if i practice shoe-spins regularly i could have 900s down easy.

May 30, 2004 Mart

I think that if you want Soap to progress like this, Aaron, a tutorial video would be really helpful. And that isn't me being a shithead; I really want to be able to do this stuff and being shown how would help so much it's untrue. And then people wouldn't say shit to you about all this

May 30, 2004 aaron

mart, you've sparked an idea.

May 30, 2004 Mart

I expect royalties

Jun 1, 2004 lilwurz

that pic is tits

Jun 15, 2004 Phantom00991

It is a lot easier to hit a grind when you but on a foot and then hit the other foot on the rail, but I don't know...it looks kinda lame...I always looks better if you can just run through a line of like 5 rails and hit em all just jumping on and riding them.

Jul 17, 2004 Fat_ass_cracker

fat ass cracker goin down with dis pic hes a hero

Apr 23, 2006 mrman

That is a phantastic foto.

Why must one confuse the drive train with the destination? Whoops say hello but nobody wrings brazilian food.

Apr 23, 2006 mrman

Test.

If I hit "enter" like above, does the test shown in the comments also display a carriage return?

If statements are fun but I like to switch it up with a good statement of case for the phabulus return of ferel. Formating is a fickly friends while time stops at once.

May 19, 2006 onthegrindduude

Sep 7, 2007 Page645

Sep 8, 2007 Page645

oh and WTF IS A POWERSLIDE?????

Sep 8, 2007 mgm

Powerslide isn't a trick.

Sep 8, 2007 Page645

EXACTLY!

Sep 8, 2007 Page645

oh wait i think that was put in the SSS tricktionary

Sep 8, 2007 AnthoFlex

We put those "power" tricks in the tricktionary because although we knew they weren't real tricks, it gave the noobies sumthing to do before they could do the bigger tricks, which sounds stupid i know.

And also, all these trick variations were featured in multiple Soap sites

Sep 8, 2007 Page645

ah that about explains.

Sep 8, 2007 Page645

antho strikes again!
