Very Nice! How high was that rail?

Sep 9, 2003 savestheday

Sep 9, 2003 mike

What fisheye are you using?

Sep 9, 2003 Tanner

Good stuff

Sep 9, 2003 pushead

very nice.....damnit Ryan we need a fisheye lense!

Sep 9, 2003 pushead

but of course you already know that

Sep 9, 2003 Smokey

Actually, YOU need a fisheye to go along with that GL2 you're supposed to get...

Sep 9, 2003 aaron

if you spend all that money on a GL2 and don't get atleast a fisheye and a wideangle than i will personally kick you in the ballzzzzzz

Sep 9, 2003 Greg

i agree with aaron, and then with everyone. this picture is mega sexy

Sep 9, 2003 pushead

same difference

Sep 10, 2003 peach

very stylish trick and a very well taken photo

Sep 10, 2003 aaron

GL2s offer a warmer picture.colors, but slightly less quality then a VX2000, if you are a master editer and always mock up your photos/clips (each clip/photo individually) for color saturation/balance/light/contrast then get the VX2000... if you want warm nice pictures/clips that don't need editing, than go for the GL2, because the difference of quality is very slim, and the fact you wont have to edit each pic from a GL2 for warmth it'll save your ass from busting the sllightly-extra quality from the VX2000 with shitty editing attempts.

Sep 10, 2003 aaron

oh, and if you think a fisheye and a wideangle are the same thing, then maybe you shouldnt be getting a VX2000 cause you would just fuck up the additional picture resolution... actually, if you don't know the difference between the two lenses, maybe you should start with a lower camera until you learn more

Sep 10, 2003 broox

hopefully you're not talking to me, because i do know the difference. i also did hours of research on the 3 cameras before i bought my VX2000. the VX2000 beats the GL2 hands down, and the PD150 beats them both, simply because it has better audio features. But I suppose anyone could just google the 2, read a few reviews/comparisons and then post them basically verbatim here, right?

Sep 10, 2003 broox

don't get me wrong, the GL2 is nice, and canon does make some excellent cameras. i actually wanted the GL2 until i visited a few high end production studios and got their opinions... then i debated, researched some more, and got the sony.

Sep 10, 2003 Tanner

Derek, you didn't get the sony..your grandma paid for it..bastard!

Sep 10, 2003 Mart

The rail's just below hip height from the path and lower than that from the grass Also, if you look in the background, you can see JimD in the blue tee. The rail starts there

Sep 10, 2003 Mart

And my Raynox fisheye is on backorder for the XM1 I just gooooot

Sep 10, 2003 savestheday

EVERYONE LOVES GRANDMAS!!!!!!

Sep 10, 2003 Smokey

well thanks for the info aaron/derek. We'll definately take that into account... And Marshall is getting his from his rich-ass grandpa heh. So, the rail starts way back where the guy in the blue shirt is standing... Did dunk backslide the entire thing?

Sep 10, 2003 Mart

You must be off your rocker, Ryan (continuing the granny theme there). The rail has four kinks in it and is over 40feet long by a long shot. It is an absolute beast of a rail Actually, Dunk royalled out three of the kinks that day, but the batteries fucked themselves and we got very little video

Sep 10, 2003 Smokey

Oh... Well for some reason it didn't look like jim was that far back... But then again, I'm not very good with measurements and the like.

Sep 10, 2003 broox

Don't get a GL2, get a VX2000 or a PD150. DOPE picture dunk. excellent form and excellent angle.

Sep 10, 2003 Mart

We at UKFSW aim to please

Sep 10, 2003 Louis

True say

Sep 10, 2003 aaron

no derek, i wasnt talking to you, i assumed your already know the difference, and for the record i'd choose the VX-2000 too, i was telling him to look into the GL2 because for the warmer images that work nicely with fisheyes happen naturally with the GL2, but require post-editing with the VX2000 (cause the VX2000 has more true-to-life colors, which is usually great but with a fisheye i think that saturated looks better)... but yah, rate your skill, if your following what i'm saying and know how to adjust the color settings on clips then def. go for the VX2000, but if your getting started in the game the GL2 is a more-than-wonderful choice. And Derek, I laugh at you for assuming I copied reviews off google, is it really that hard to believe that somebody besides yourself might have a clue-in-hell what they're talking about? I took a highschool digital media course, then spent some time at acadia university this summer studying technology/videography... not to mention i work at a newspaper, which is owned by a media company, and my dad has also worked there for many-a-year so i've had much exposure to both still and film cameras for many, many, many years now

May 19, 2006 Louis

What a great photo from a really great day. UKFSW fo life

May 21, 2006 Mart

That day taught us that batteries MUST be charged fully the night before a session. And to keep spares

May 22, 2006 soapman

Mart that is soo true. I told my friend to fuck off when he said your comment was gay.

May 22, 2006 onthegrindduude

Lower Hip hieght, 40 ft long, FOUR kinks!
Sounds like my kinda rail, that thing would keep me busy for hours (trying to finish it)

And backsliding at the end of a rail is always soooo sketchy, but it's always somthing cool to do

Dec 31, 2006 SonicSoaper

Yeeeeaaaaaaah.

Mar 2, 2007 RamenRadio

Sick

Apr 19, 2007 Tasslehoff

SICK!

Apr 21, 2007 Mart

Thinking about it, this rail was probably much longer than 40ft

Haha, if the Septums were ever rerelased, this would be the shot to use in the ad

Apr 21, 2007 rhinoskater30

OH YEAH!!!

May 19, 2007 rhinoskater30

Oh yeah... did he fall earlier cuz it looks like there's a grass stain on his left (our right) knee.

May 19, 2007 mets603412

nice grind

Jul 19, 2007 RamenRadio

You got some octanes in those shoes you have Dunk? Might not be, you could just have a groove in there. Either that or you have slo bros in there and I'm way off XD

Sep 28, 2007 dunk

I think they were slo bros? They were the standard plates in the Septums.

Sep 28, 2007 AnthoFlex

Travis, you can clearly see those are Slobros

Sep 28, 2007 broox

is that a grass stained knee? did you miss the first couple tries? ;)

still a sick pic. next time you should only wear your left shoe and go barefoot with your right.

Sep 28, 2007 AnthoFlex

I have to honestly say though, although you cant see it in this pic, the shirt Dunk's wearing is the best looking soap shirt i have ever seen

Oct 27, 2007 dunk

yep... i stacked it numerous times further up the rail. It was a 3 or 4 kink and I was trying to nail the whole thing.

Apr 1, 2008 wyattpeterson

steazyy man nice

Mar 1, 2010 Brad

I have a rail kinda like this at a park near my house. It's hella long and steep though.
