propa gd get sum man

Apr 8, 2006 Surfaced

Good luck with that.

Apr 8, 2006 Surfaced

And really... they aren't that good. Just eye-candy for when you put your feet on the table. Makes 'em say, "woah".

Apr 8, 2006 mgm

These do last a long time though. I had some on my old turntables and they lasted even after I grew out of them. I used to grind on rough ledges too, since I had the turntables when I was too short to grind on hand rails. My curb busters looked a little different though. There are only the two smaller holes on top of each other. There was no large hole.

Apr 8, 2006 soaphoax

yeah man, they honestly kick ass!!! the thing is i tried to grind curbs on ma cuz's shoes n it wor that gd!!

Apr 15, 2006 teamhoax

What are the yellow and grey patches for ???

Apr 19, 2006 Surfaced

Some people say the Yellow patch isn't there... My friend's doesn't even have anything there where the yellow patch is.

Apr 19, 2006 teamhoax

If they are there though what is their purpose ?

Apr 20, 2006 broox

the yellow and gray patches were originally replacable. i have a couple of those grindplates in my closet right now. soap wanted to put out all kinds of replacement colors that you could buy when your grindplates got worn down a bit.

obviously they never went through with those in production, they were just a solid material. however the solid material is much harder than your normal grindplates so they still stand up to all kinds of wear and tear.

May 7, 2006 Sugarfree

Yeah broox is totally right my septums have a curb buster on the right shoe anyway, the curbs that i usually hit at work tore up my scabs with the original uhf plate but my curb busters not even touched after a whole 8 hour shift of abuse. These plates rock!

May 17, 2006 Bryndon

The plugs were originally supposed to be available in different densities of nylon so that you could swich the plug to go slower or faster on different surfaces, I believe most of the Crowbars came with a soft clear translucent plug and a hard plug. Unfortunatly the shape of the plate didn't come out anywhere close to the original mold that I hand made from clay. The royale side was supposed to have close to a 90 degree angle groove with much beefier sides that would keep the edge of the shoe off the curb and allow you to slide for miles.

May 18, 2006 chip

do you think theas are a little bulkey?

May 18, 2006 Surfaced

Yes, the outer edges are especially bulky, but they need it. Curbs man... they are tough.

May 18, 2006 Sugarfree

Dude i think how the curb busters stick out a little on the outside edge looks badass. At least it does on my septums :)

May 18, 2006 Surfaced

Ya, it was designed for use with the shoes that have built-in brakes (useless, btw), and that edge that sticks out would overlap on part of the brake.

May 18, 2006 chip

some soaps have bracks thats the first im hereing of it

May 18, 2006 chip

it would be funny if you put theas on the ordiance lol

May 18, 2006 Curtinator

Curb Busters are cool

May 18, 2006 Curtinator

and kewl for curbs!

Jun 5, 2006 AnthoFlex

I was actuallt thinking about getting these to put on my Ordnance....lmfao...

Jun 5, 2006 AnthoFlex

by the way, brake pads have no use....u tweak ur foot that far just to:

A: lose speed
B: Lose control
C: hurting your ankle if you didnt stretch

Jun 5, 2006 Mart

Brake pads have plenty of use. A - yes, losing speed generally happens when you brake; B - you won't lose control if you 'know what you are doing'; and C - proper tweak comes from the knees, not the ankles

Jul 16, 2006 AnthoFlex

hmmmm.....The knees eh?...

Jul 16, 2006 Mart

Yes. Royales, farfs and any other tweaked grinds look like shit if you just bend your ankles. Style comes from the knees and the knees only

Jul 16, 2006 AnthoFlex

Yea thanx dude, imma try that. I always used to use my ankles (dunno why) i think i'll try the knees today. thanx again man

Jul 24, 2006 Mart

People always use their ankles because it's the easiest way to get the tweak, plus most don't know any better

Jul 24, 2006 AnthoFlex

Yea, i think i get more control with the knees....it keeps me on the rail longer....YOu learn sumthing new everyday right lol :)

Jul 28, 2006 AnthoFlex

I just got a pair of these from Steven today, and i must say:

1. I JUST got them so i havent been able to test em out...plus, i start work today

2. They look very...VERY wierd.....in a cool way

3. They don't have the yellow and gray spots

4. My ordnance must be weird, just like my Express....My Ordnance is a size 10, and the curb buster is an 8....and yet, it fits fine

Aug 27, 2006 XxsoapergirlxX

can it go on my size 7 ordnance?

Aug 27, 2006 Mart

If you get a pair of 7/8 Curb Busters, then yeah they can

Aug 27, 2006 SonicSoaper

I'm a size seven and I fit perfectly into my size six Torch shoes.

Sep 10, 2006 chip

theas are sick plats

Jan 7, 2007 snikas

yeah

Jan 9, 2007 vmn551

so i take it that you should still wax up a curb before using these plates.

Jan 9, 2007 AnthoFlex

Not really, they are very good....They're just hardcore. They can take a beatings from ledges really well...But even waxed ledges are rough, they'll murder your plates. But not so much these

Jan 10, 2007 matrix8967

yeah, these things are like an inch thick on one side. my friend had some crowbars, and they where so thick, then my other friend bought hers and they where like mega.

---Alex

Jan 10, 2007 AnthoFlex

Yea, these plates can take hell so easily haha

Jan 10, 2007 matrix8967

these plates are like "unwaxed/unpainted curbs? PSH! I eat those for breakfast son!"

---Alex

Jan 10, 2007 snikas

is that good. un wax and un painted curbs. idont know but i wish i had these plates. my UHFs are taken a hell of a beaten

Jan 10, 2007 AnthoFlex

Dude, you still have to wax ledges, these arent magic plates.... Its just even waxed ledges destroy your plates. But these can take a lot more of a beating

Jan 10, 2007 SonicSoaper

Magic plates. Those would be pretty cool. I mean, they'd get worn out but then when you go to sleep and wake up the next morning, they're good as new!

Jan 11, 2007 snikas

cool magic plates. yeah i know but UHFs get chunks taken outta them eay. mine are missing chunks but they got worn down

Jan 11, 2007 AnthoFlex

Magic plates that came back to life would be no good.....No groove...they should have a clean looking groove in it when they regenerate haha

UHFs Suck, BBKs and Express rule

Jan 11, 2007 snikas

i know but i dont know were to get a pair of BBKs. ebay dosent have size 11/12. Hey AnthoFlex do you know were the best place to get them by any chance?

Jan 11, 2007 snikas

or any plates besides UHFs

Jan 11, 2007 SonicSoaper

Steve Deel's store.

Jan 11, 2007 snikas

weres that?

Jan 28, 2007 shdook

cannot wait till i get these...

Feb 1, 2007 shdook

I got these today along with my ass-kicking hat and i must say they feel heavy but its good, i can now do a cab driver alot better and they have a bunch of dots on them. I think these might be one of my favorite plates

Feb 1, 2007 AnthoFlex

i personally dunt like the curb busters too much

Feb 1, 2007 matrix8967

I like em...These and Octanes are the only 2 plates I dont have...

---Alex

Feb 2, 2007 AnthoFlex

I have EVERY replacable plate except for Maxwells

Feb 22, 2007 kobansora

Oh man I want these! Aye... Anybody selling these plates? lol, I grind on curbs more than any thing else.

~JJ

Feb 22, 2007 RamenRadio

Maybe Steve Deel has a pair. I wouldn't know though.

Feb 22, 2007 shdook

I got the last pair from steve.

Feb 22, 2007 SonicSoaper

And yer outta here!

Feb 22, 2007 kobansora

LAST PAIR! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOES!

~JJ

Feb 22, 2007 RamenRadio

maybe Renny can take some bbks and carve a pair of these out for ya lol. who knows?

Feb 22, 2007 AnthoFlex

The Curb Busters are whack, i dunt like them

and i have 2

Feb 22, 2007 SonicSoaper

You're looking to ditch 'em, huh?

Feb 22, 2007 AnthoFlex

No, thats direspectful, i got them from my good friend Steve Deel. i still use them, they are fucking awesome on ledges....im not afraid to rip these plates up on rocky ledges

Feb 22, 2007 SonicSoaper

Sweet. That makes sense since they're called Curb Busters.

Feb 22, 2007 shdook

I actually like these plates, beacause of how much shit they can take, its amazing!

Feb 22, 2007 matrix8967

these things are tanks. like urban assault vehicles man. when the A-bomb hits, it'll be cockroaches, old steel remotes from the 80s, and curbbusters in the world. they'll spawn a new race of bad ass plates.

---Alex

Feb 26, 2007 kobansora

If anybody can find some size 13 Curb Busters.... Please tell me. Otherwise, I will buy out all the size 13 BBKs and UHF plates because.... Well... look.

That's one week of wear.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v493/kobansora/PHOT0002-1.jpg

No more curbs for me! So tempting though...

~JJ

Feb 26, 2007 matrix8967

oh those are fine...just dirty, clean them with an old tooth brush, thats what i do. check out the post about "worst grindplates" somewhere in the forum, renny makes a good point of how express might seem like shitty plates, but that they're really tough

---Alex

Feb 26, 2007 AnthoFlex

Yea, dude theres nothing wrong with those plates

Feb 26, 2007 matrix8967

yeah, they work...just looks like you where tromping through a sewer or something lol. I hate when i get mud on my plates. one time, i was in ankle deep water carrying my g/f across a small river that had developed in the court yard of a school we where at, and my ordnance got SOAKED. i just took out the screws, and plates and let them dry for a few days and they where good as new. some damn fine footwear if i do say so myself.

---Alex

Feb 26, 2007 SonicSoaper

I'm guessing your socks got soaked due to the mesh.

Feb 26, 2007 kobansora

Nonono lol, the thing wrong with the white plates isn't that they're dirty, but that they have almost no groove anymore. I jumped on top of the handrail next to the laundry mat and I had almost no lock on compared to the new BBKs I'm using.

And while I'm on curbs, they don't lock on anymore either.

~JJ

Feb 26, 2007 SonicSoaper

That comment was directed at Alex.

Feb 26, 2007 matrix8967

if you hit some low rails (like a PR) then you'll wear the groove back AND it will smooth them out. I have PR i grind at a playground to smooth my plates out. it works, trust me, they'll be good as new within and hour.

and yes, my socks where soaked, but the shoes where tough. they didn't even smell wet. i was so proud of them lol.

---Alex

Feb 26, 2007 SonicSoaper

Cool.

Feb 27, 2007 kobansora

I know who the comment was directed towards lol.

Well, I'll change my plates again and see if I can do anythin about it lol.

~J

Mar 1, 2007 AnthoFlex

The Royale and Farf sides of this plate are bulky for 1 reason....maybe two

1. It has a little bit of concave, to theres lock-in

2. Its so damn big that its like standing on a platform while grinding, making balancing a Breeeze...i used my pair once and only once...i really dunt like em though

oh by the way, yanninicole,

why don't you stop your retarded-ass comments? If you got sumthing real to say, then say it...i doubt a 9-year old acts like that, now grow up!

Mar 1, 2007 matrix8967

i would have sex with something i wouldnt usually have sex with to get these plates man.

---Alex

Mar 1, 2007 AnthoFlex

perhaps i'll throw in my Curb busters when you sell me your Broadsides then, if im not gonna use them, you probably should

Mar 2, 2007 kobansora

Oh man I wish I had smaller feet lol...

So I can grab some curb busters.

~JJ

Mar 2, 2007 shdook

I dont think im going to sell my curb busters, but if antho sells his a 7/8 will fit a 9/10

Mar 2, 2007 SonicSoaper

And now the spam is gone.

Jun 4, 2007 RamenRadio

Damn, I was hoping there would be a size 13 of these. ugh, i dunno what over plates I could get other than BBK or Maxwell

Jul 25, 2007 moojuiceman

wow these sound pretty decent, shame i cant get any shoes with these on in size uk 9 hint hint... anyone?

Jul 25, 2007 RamenRadio

Ask someone if they would sell a pair to you. I kinda doubt it though. These are VERY hard to come by. :(

Sep 5, 2007 RamenRadio

I want a pair of these plates so badly! COME ON HSL, you guys aren't fun.

Jan 29, 2008 RamenRadio

These plates are great. Now I don't have to worry about destroying my bbks on curbs.

The only time I need to grind on ledges with my bbks is to get a nice groove in the plate.

But now, I can just tear up my curb busters.

These plates last SOOOOO long.

Seriously, HSL should release these.

May 5, 2008 StonedSlider

Does anyone know where can i buy some of these plates, i live in England??

May 19, 2008 kunasaki

can these plates handle concrete?

Aug 27, 2008 Altman

These are pretty decent plates but as the name says, they're only meant for curbs. Painted curbs. So unless you're grinding some marble ledges or a good and proper rail, don't be looking to fuck these up by grinding on some unwaxed or unslick surface.

Nov 16, 2009 sylonbroadsides

its a shame these plates are so rare, I really like 'em

Nov 26, 2009 soapy1

i could use a pair of heavy duty plates

Jul 21, 2010 sylonbroadsides

One of my favorite places, best used on curbs and ledges but quite unique.

Jul 21, 2010 Tedd

I'm looking for some CB's, but I can't find any. If I can get a pair or two in size 11/12, you would make me a very happy person. And yourself 30-60 dollars richer.

Sep 24, 2011 sylonsforever

Jan 8, 2012 Lightninnova

why are they called curb busters do they grind on curbs better wiothout scratching up or is it just a stupid name -_-

Aug 12, 2013 bilbamuspirme

Aug 12, 2013 VintageGMan

I really hope so. Somewhere ...............................

Aug 13, 2013 zelda

Aug 13, 2013 rcondit

I have some :) but there size 13

Aug 14, 2013 VintageGMan

Man your lucky bro I'm a UK 11/12. All I can get as spares in the UK is uhf originals. Lol.

Aug 22, 2013 bilbamuspirme

Do you want to sell em?

Sep 11, 2013 manofmisery

im talking with one of the old users on this forum he says he will sell all his old soap stuff and wants to do it soon.

Sep 11, 2013 zelda

yeah anyone that wants to buy curb busters or whatever, just make a thread showing your interest, leave your email in your account profile, and I will get back to you soon. im sorry guys ive just been swamped, things are just really busy to no end. being a grown up can really suck.

Sep 11, 2013 mindreader

its ok. actually make a thread yourself and i bet people will post no worries dude hope all is well.

Sep 11, 2013 zelda

ok. curb busters are pretty awesome, if they made these replaceable grind plate shoes a little lighter though they would be so much better you guys are right

Mar 20, 2015 Waffle
