Make a model of an old grind plate, and sell it, would that be illegal?

Technically speaking. But if you were to just put a groove in a BBK plate, I wouldn't know. I wouldn't try it if I were you.

Ask Renny to be safe

Jun 28, 2007Megashadow77

I mean, I'm pretty sure I can't do it, but I was just wondering.

Jun 28, 2007RamenRadio

I don't think you should. I think Steve Deel is the only qualified person to do it.

Jun 28, 2007Megashadow77

well, like I said, I can't do it, unless you want a plate made out of play-doh XD.

Like I said, I was just wondering.

Jun 28, 2007RamenRadio

Wait till Renny says anything. I think there was a question like this before. I don't remember though

Jun 28, 2007AnthoFlex

He got the idea off of me, what a little copy-kat

Jun 28, 2007AnthoFlex

*except, i've already made a successful mold...mwahahahaa

Out of clay? Nope
Metal? Nope

I wont say what i made it out of

Jun 28, 2007RamenRadio

BBK NYLON PLATE! XD

Nah, that's not it. I tried melting it, and it really doesn't work XD You need MAD heat to melt it.

Jun 28, 2007Megashadow77

No, Actually I got the idea from my friend making a wax mold of his hand....

Jun 28, 2007mgm

Can we see a picture of your homemade plate?

Jun 28, 2007RamenRadio

I'm not sure if made one, but Megashadow, if you did I would like to see it as well.

Jun 28, 2007Megashadow77

.....I'm too poor to afford plastic casting, that crap is expensive!

Jun 28, 2007Megashadow77

Maybe if I can get some stuff, I'll make some.....and I'll probably end up giving them away.

Jun 28, 2007Megashadow77

I just wanna know what soap plates are made out of, and who will test them for me....

Jun 28, 2007RamenRadio

I could I guess. :D I'd like to.

Jun 28, 2007Megashadow77

Okay, that would be cool, now, all I need to know is....What the effing plates are made out of, and where can I get it.....

Jun 28, 2007RamenRadio

The plates are made out of Nylon Plastic. However, I tried melting it once or twice with two lighters. It didn't work. If you want to melt that thing up, you are going to need mad heat.

As for where to get pure nylon plastic, I'm not too sure.

HOWEVER What I would recommend doing is emailing steve deel for a couple of BBK plates and work your way through there. How does that sound?

Jun 28, 2007Megashadow77

What do you mean work my way through there?

Jun 28, 2007RamenRadio

You do whatever you can to put whatever you want in that plate. Whether you have to carve it in like mad while heating it up with a lighter or blowtorch or something, or somehow getting the heat from the gods to melt Nylon plate lol

Understand what I mean?

Jun 28, 2007sam

Renny, is it that slow-bro mold you showed me a while ago?

Jun 28, 2007Megashadow77

Yeah. I know what you mean.

Jun 28, 2007RamenRadio

I'm pretty sure the only mold Renny has is that slo bro mold. I hate slo bros, but what a lucky bastard XD

I'm only playing Renny :D

Jun 28, 2007Megashadow77

I'm getting sloBros....but I'll probably use them mostly on slanted rails......

Jun 28, 2007AnthoFlex

Yea, it is Sam, but i made another one. This one was for the Octanes i have (that i never used) If this goes through, be sure to keep an eye out for multi-colored Octanes (9/10) at the SSS Shop

; )

Jun 28, 2007RamenRadio

O.O!!?!??!?!?!?!??!?

Woa man, wait just a second.

Can't I use those in a size 11 shoe? If not a size 12 shoe, I think i could put it in a size 11 shoe.

Jun 29, 2007Megashadow77

see. this is why I'm glad I wear size 10....

Also, I've wondered, wouldn't it be possible, to rig up and combine the shape of a glued on plate, and a replacable plate, and make a replacable version of a glued on plate?

Jun 29, 2007AnthoFlex

I have made molds of my own plate ideas.

For example, i have made a few plates. I never got around to getting them casted to nylon, but they would be sick if i did. The first one i dunt really like too much. I called it the Tri-dent. It completely went against everything i hypothesized, probably because i made it too complicated.

Jun 29, 2007Megashadow77

Whoa, you should cast the best looking ones, and sell the bet preforming one in the SSS shop.

Also, where the heck do you get nylon casting, anyways?

Jun 29, 2007AnthoFlex

My dad works in a Electrical warehouse in L.I.C

Across the street is an "All plastics" factory. They are always getting stuff from the Electrical warehouse so the owners are cool. So they can hook me up ; )

Jun 29, 2007Megashadow77

awww, you are so lucky, man.

Jun 29, 2007AnthoFlex

They are the guys that are gonna copy my Octanes

Jun 29, 2007Megashadow77

How much you gonna sell them for?

Jun 29, 2007AnthoFlex

Normal price. But its not gonna be me selling it. I'm not a selfish fuck like that. We are going to put it on the SSS Shop page.

Get ready for a new wave of inventory at the shop

Jun 29, 2007Megashadow77

Woohoo! hooray for Renny, Steve, Trey, and everything Soap related!

Jun 29, 2007sam

You should make some metal octanes. ;)

Jun 29, 2007Megashadow77

.....my badass-dar just broke.

Jun 29, 2007AnthoFlex

Nope, metal octanes, out of the question. Dario has a pair of Metal BBKs and we tried them out in the Demo spot and scratched the shit outta the paint on the rails, peeled it riight off

Jun 29, 2007Megashadow77

Well, wouldn't they be good for Hard, Rocky ledges?

Jun 29, 2007AnthoFlex

Believe me, metal plates arent all that.

Why do you think sk8rs have to wax the shit outta everything they wanna grind while Bladers and Soapers can easily semi-wax a ledge and grind with no problem?

Jun 29, 2007Megashadow77

...hmm, good point....

Jun 29, 2007Megashadow77

Well, anyway, like I said earlier about replacable glued on plates, is that possible?!?!?!

Jun 29, 2007AnthoFlex

Its definetly possible. But a replaceble Express would be wierd looking and probably wouldnt function as great

Jun 29, 2007Megashadow77

What about speedsters?

Jun 29, 2007Megashadow77

Okay, forget my last comment. Speedsters would be totally weird. >.<

Jun 29, 2007Kile

they dont sell soap grindplates on ebay anymore cant seem to find them

Jun 29, 2007AnthoFlex

The quickdraws were replaceable speedsters. And you saw what happened to them ^_^

Jun 29, 2007Megashadow77

Yeah, lol.

Also, Kile, the grind plates on Ebay are in Ebay Stores.

Jun 30, 2007SapAuthor

By state law, the plates and it's stuff are copyrighted and patented, meaning that you can not legally make and sell the molds.

HSL owns the rights, sadly.

Jun 30, 2007Kile

i dont quite understand what you mean by ebay stores could you please explain ?

Jun 30, 2007Megashadow77

www.ebaystores.com

Search up Grind Plates in the gray box, not the top one.

Jul 5, 2007Kile

ight gotcha now thanks but yeah renny hopefully all goes well and your able to get them copied and sell them would be a big hit

Jul 6, 2007firegrind

what ever happened to the set of metal grindplates anyways?

also what type of metal were they made of?

Jul 6, 2007AnthoFlex

Metal Grindplates suck

Jul 6, 2007Megashadow77

And that's that. XD
