Whats this "barely" a handrail? I wanna see a pic of it.

Hand rails aren't actually as bad as they seem. I would always start with a hand rail though that has a flat level ground on both sides.

I say wear protection gear though. expecially helmet and wrist gaurds (in case you do go head first).

THen, just work on jumping high up onto the rail. The best way to do it is land straight up (isntead of landing at an angle nad hoping your moment brings you up)

Lastly, expect you will mess up a bit. Most times you either hit rubber and have to bail (almost always landing on feet), or the other case is your foot doesn't make it up (try to avoid this, you can really hurt ur shins like i did :P)
